The Alstom trains for Bucharest's M5 metro line are still undergoing testing and have not yet entered service. Metrorex has received 12 out of 13 trains, but none have been approved by the Romanian Railway Authority (AFER). The testing process includes static and dynamic tests, followed by endurance tests, which are necessary for operational approval. Legal disputes between Metrorex and Alstom have also occurred, with penalties imposed on the manufacturer for delays. Metrorex aims to enforce contract terms to ensure project completion.
