Escrocherie în numele BNR cu apeluri false. Trei suspecți au fost prinși în flagrant în București • Newsweek România

Three Ukrainian citizens were arrested in Bucharest for a fraud scheme involving fake calls claiming to be from the National Bank of Romania. Victims were misled into withdrawing money from their accounts and handing it over to individuals indicated by the fraudsters. The scheme involved impersonating bank representatives and law enforcement, using fake documents to enhance credibility. The total financial loss reported so far exceeds 90,000 lei, with one victim losing 30,000 lei and another 61,540 lei. Authorities emphasize that legitimate institutions do not request such actions via phone calls. Investigations are ongoing.
