"Erau repere". Troițele din Brașov, bucăți de istorie care îi leagă pe localnici de trecutul orașului

Brașov is home to 64 historic crosses known as troițe, located in the Șchei neighborhood. These wooden and stone altars mark significant intersections and reflect the community's heritage. The oldest, the Crucea din Cutun, dates back to 1234, while the Troița din Variște was erected in 1816. Local traditions and gatherings, especially during Easter, are centered around these troițe, which serve as cultural landmarks. Authorities plan to restore ten of these troițe with a budget of nearly 14 million lei, aiming to preserve their historical significance and enhance tourism. The restoration project is expected to be completed within 19 months.
