EPPO: Fraudă cu fonduri europene de 4 milioane de euro la un spital din România

The European Public Prosecutor's Office conducted seven searches related to suspected fraud in public procurement involving a €4 million project funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The investigation focuses on the purchase of medical equipment aimed at reducing healthcare-associated infections. Searches were carried out at a hospital, a County Council, and several companies, as well as the homes of individuals involved. Evidence suggests that the project's budget may have been artificially inflated through manipulated equipment values and the use of nearly 70 fake price offers. The case was initially reported by the National Anti-Corruption Directorate, with support from the European Anti-Fraud Office during the investigation.
