A 2,100-year-old Roman shipwreck was found off the coast of Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, carrying around 500 amphorae. The discovery was made by Italian police with the help of divers after fishermen reported the site. The ship lies at a depth of 46 meters and measures 21 meters in length and 6 meters in width. Most of the amphorae are of the Dressel 1A type, significant for understanding ancient trade networks. Archaeologists plan to investigate the ship's sinking date, cargo origin, and preservation state, emphasizing the site's archaeological importance.
