The maximum price will be €1.99 per liter for gasoline and €2.19 for diesel, approximately 17 cents below current average prices. This measure will be effective for 30 days starting September 28, with a possibility of extension depending on market conditions. Eni's decision follows the Italian government's reduction of indirect fuel taxes to combat price increases. The company aims to support consumers amid high fuel costs, which are attributed to reduced refined product supply due to geopolitical crises and refinery closures in Europe.
