Energie solară sub apă. Cercetătorii au reușit ce părea imposibil la zece metri adâncime

Chinese researchers demonstrated that solar panels can generate electricity at depths of ten meters underwater, a significant advancement in underwater solar energy technology. The experiment took place in the South China Sea, where previous studies had only explored depths of up to two meters due to rapid light attenuation. Using perovskite cells, which can be tuned to absorb specific light wavelengths, the team achieved a conversion rate of about 35% in laboratory conditions simulating ten meters depth. In real conditions, a panel produced 324 milliwatt-hours at ten meters, exceeding expectations. The technology could power oceanic sensors and communication devices, reducing the need for battery retrieval. Future research will explore the maximum depth for solar energy generation.
