Energia solară depășește cărbunele în China

China has reached a significant milestone in its energy transition, with solar power capacity surpassing coal for the first time. By July 2026, installed solar capacity reached 1.286 billion kilowatts, while coal stood at 1.285 billion. Solar energy production increased by 15.5% in the first seven months of 2026, accounting for about one-eighth of China's total electricity output. This shift reflects China's commitment to reducing carbon emissions, aiming for peak emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. The rapid growth of renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, is reshaping China's energy landscape, despite coal's continued importance. China also leads in renewable technology production, outpacing Europe in capacity installations and infrastructure readiness.
