Other state-controlled producers, like Elcen and Romgaz, also reported high selling prices. Despite plans to close certain capacities, the government decided to keep them operational for the upcoming winters, potentially incurring EU penalties. Energy prices are expected to rise further, influenced by gas prices and poor hydro forecasts, with estimates suggesting a 5% increase in consumer bills by 2027.
