The attack was motivated by racist beliefs and inspired by previous school shootings. Other students intervened bravely to stop him. Investigators found messages inciting hate and a detailed plan on the attacker’s phone. Despite training for school counselors to identify radicalization, the system failed to prevent this incident. The attacker is currently hospitalized, and discussions about his future education are ongoing, as he is under the age of criminal responsibility.
