The Senate approved a law granting scholarships to students during school vacations, starting this school year. The law, which received 106 votes in favor, includes social, merit, and technological scholarships, expanding financial support to more students. The proposal must still be voted on by the Chamber of Deputies before it can be enacted. Beneficiaries include students from public and private schools, as well as minor mothers returning to education. Scholarship amounts are set at 450 lei for merit, 300 lei for social and technological scholarships, and 700 lei for minor mothers. The law also ensures that these scholarships are tax-exempt and do not affect eligibility for other social benefits.
