An analysis shows that Romanian students have 834 mandatory hours per year, less than the OECD average of 922 hours. The curriculum includes 11 core subjects and 14 optional ones, but the way subjects are divided affects student performance. In contrast, countries like Spain and Italy have more hours and a more integrated approach to teaching. Experts suggest that instead of adding new subjects for every societal issue, a more interdisciplinary method should be adopted to enhance learning efficiency.
