Students in accredited pre-university education will continue to receive free train tickets and monthly subscriptions for the 2026-2027 school year. They can use last year's validated student ID until September 30, 2026. The free travel applies to all train categories, including Regio, InterRegio, and InterCity, in second class. To obtain these benefits, students must present a valid student ID or a school certificate. Tickets can be acquired at ticket offices, online, or from ticket machines. Monthly subscriptions are also available via a mobile app. Students must carry identification when traveling, and failure to present required documents may result in fines.
