The PRIMII program aims to support around 50,000 primary school children in Romania with remedial activities, meals, and counseling to prevent functional illiteracy and school dropout. With a budget exceeding 1.21 billion lei, the initiative targets schools at high risk of early school leaving. Eligible schools will receive funding for after-school programs, individualized lessons, and necessary educational resources. The program emphasizes early intervention to address learning gaps and improve functional literacy. Applications for funding must be submitted by October 12, 2026, and the program will run for three years.
