Elena Buhoci-Gurgulescu was a notable Romanian actress known for her role as Fira in the popular 'Haiduci' films. Despite her captivating performances, she faded from public memory over the years. Born in Galați in 1938, she graduated from the I.L. Caragiale Institute in 1965 and gained fame in the 1960s and 70s. After a successful career in theater, she faced personal tragedies, including the loss of her only son. She retired from acting in 1998 and passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 87.
