Electrica S.A. has signed a contract for a new high-efficiency cogeneration plant in Craiova, designed to be hydrogen-ready and capable of black-start. The plant will replace coal-based energy sources, providing thermal energy for the city's centralized heating system and electricity for the national grid. This project aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce local pollution, benefiting approximately 53,000 households. The investment, approved by shareholders, amounts to up to 235 million euros and will be implemented in two phases, ensuring compliance with European energy regulations.
