In the second quarter of 2026, the Eurozone's GDP grew by 0.6% and the EU's by 0.7%, following stagnation in the previous quarter. Ireland, Slovenia, and Lithuania saw the highest growth rates, while Austria experienced a decline. Year-on-year, the Eurozone's economy increased by 1.2% and the EU's by 1.4%. Employment figures also rose slightly, with a 0.1% increase in both regions. The number of hours worked grew by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter, with notable increases in Portugal, Czechia, and Malta, while Finland and Greece reported declines.
