In Q2 2026, Romania's GDP decreased by 0.4% compared to Q2 2025, with a 2% drop on a seasonally adjusted basis. The GDP for H1 2026 fell by 0.8% compared to H1 2025. The National Institute of Statistics revised the seasonal adjustment series due to new estimates for Q2 2026. Governor Mugur Isărescu predicts zero or negative economic growth for Romania this year, but does not foresee a severe recession.
