Emergency teams have been increased to combat wildfires in Domogled National Park, affecting 423 hectares of forest. The area is difficult to access, complicating ground interventions due to risks of accidents and falling trees. Teams were coordinated from Băile Herculane and transported by helicopter to the affected regions. Currently, 42 Romsilva employees, supported by firefighters, park rangers, and volunteers, are on-site. The fire, which started on August 9, 2026, has spread rapidly due to the rugged terrain and dry conditions, with dead wood and dry litter exacerbating the situation. Despite increased personnel, challenging conditions hinder effective firefighting efforts.
