Echipa Universității Tehnice din Cluj Napoca, vicecampioană mondială la prestigioasa competiție EERI Seismic Design Competition, desfășurată în SUA
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca's SDC team secured second place at the 2026 Seismic Design Competition in Portland, Oregon. Their project, 'Semiramis Gardens,' featured a 1.5-meter tall balsa wood model that successfully underwent real seismic simulations. Competing against 46 teams from 12 countries, the Romanian team showcased exceptional structural performance and design quality. The team consisted of 11 students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, led by captain Andrei Pop. UTCN has a strong history in this competition, with multiple world titles and awards since 2011.
