The Romanian government has approved a support scheme of up to 300 euros per hectare for potato producers in 2026. Farmers must apply through local agricultural offices and meet specific conditions to qualify. Payments will be made by December 22, provided producers submit proof of their harvest by November 23. The total budget for this initiative is 26.625 million lei, aimed at assisting farmers amid rising production costs and import challenges. The support is limited to those cultivating at least 0.3 hectares and achieving a minimum yield of 12 tons per hectare.
