The 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian Army has effectively ceased to function as an organized military force following Ukraine's successful Vivaldi counteroffensive in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian commander Andri Biletskyi reported that the division, which was part of a Russian force operating from a bridgehead on the Chornyi Zherebets River, suffered significant losses during the operation. The original Russian plan aimed to advance towards Barvinkove and encircle Ukrainian forces in the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk area. Biletskyi noted that the division's current actions resemble defensive maneuvers rather than organized operations, indicating a temporary abandonment of their offensive strategy against Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
