După ce s-au născut prea mulți băieți într-o țară cu peste 100 de milioane de locuitori, autoritățile plănuiesc o schimbare în următorul deceniu

Vietnam aims to balance the gender ratio at birth by reducing the number of boys to 106 per 100 girls by 2035, addressing long-standing gender preferences. The Ministry of Health's plan includes stricter laws against sex selection and public awareness campaigns. The current ratio is significantly skewed, with 112.2 boys per 100 girls in 2016, peaking at 114.8 in 2018. Authorities warn that an excess of men could lead to serious social issues, including difficulties in finding partners and increased gender-based violence.
