După 15 ani, o nouă prelevare de organe la Spitalul Județean Alba Iulia / Inima și plămânii au ajuns în străinătate, după ce în România nu s-au găsit pacienți compatibili

For the first time in 15 years, Alba Iulia Emergency County Hospital successfully performed an organ and tissue donation. The procedure involved a 38-year-old patient declared brain dead, with family consent. Four medical teams participated, including two from abroad. Organs not compatible in Romania were offered to foreign transplant centers via the FOEDUS platform. Heart and lung transplants were conducted by specialized teams from Berlin and Zurich, while two kidney transplants occurred in Cluj. This event marks a significant success for the hospital, according to the National Transplant Agency director.
