Dunărea scade, iar Cernavodă are nevoie de apă. Guvernul deblochează proiectul Bala 2

The Romanian government is expediting a strategic project to ensure sufficient water flow for cooling nuclear reactors at Cernavodă due to a significant drop in the Danube's water level. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan established the Interministerial Committee Bala 2 to quickly analyze technical solutions for increasing the flow of the Old Danube towards Cernavodă. The committee will review the feasibility study of the Bala 2 project, which aims to improve navigable waterways in the area. The project is expected to enhance water flow for the current and future reactors at the nuclear power plant. The government plans to start the investment soon, funded by the state budget, while also continuing dredging works on the Old Danube.
