Hydrologists predict a potential increase only after August 24-26. Recent rains have raised the flow upstream, but the Sava River's reduced contribution limits increases at Baziaș. Significant improvement would require extensive rainfall over several days in both upper and middle river basins. Current forecasts suggest that the Danube may rise above historical minimums by late August, but no significant increases are anticipated before then. Climate change may lead to more frequent low flow periods in the future.
