The Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 will be shut down due to extremely low Danube water levels caused by severe drought. This follows the earlier shutdown of Unit 1 for the same reason. Nuclearelectrica announced that the shutdown is a precautionary measure to ensure nuclear safety and reliability. Continuous monitoring of the Danube's water levels is being conducted to determine when the plant can be safely reconnected to the national grid.
