Dunărea, la doar trei centimetri de limita operațională la Cernavodă
The National Administration "Apele Române" has announced a temporary increase of 20 cubic meters per second in water discharge from the Iezer reservoir to address low water levels in the Danube near Cernavodă. The water level is critically close to the operational limit necessary for cooling the nuclear power plant. This measure is part of coordinated efforts to manage water resources effectively during a severe drought. The discharge will not deplete the Iezer reservoir significantly, ensuring over 40 million cubic meters remain available. The situation is deemed a national responsibility for safe operation of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant.
