The Danube's water level has reached a historic low in Hungary, impacting navigation and power generation. Budapest recorded only 28 cm at the hydrometric station, affecting the Paks Nuclear Power Plant's output. Approximately 15 vessels are stranded, and cargo ships are limited in their operations. Despite the low water levels, no general navigation restrictions have been imposed. In Romania, the river's flow is also decreasing, with projections indicating a drop to about 1,500 cubic meters per second, significantly below the historical average. A cruise ship recently ran aground due to the low water levels, highlighting the ongoing challenges.
