Dumitru Chisăliță from the Intelligent Energy Association warns that a reduction in U.S. diesel exports could lead to higher fuel prices in Romania. The potential ban on exports might increase diesel prices by 0.51-1.20 lei per liter. This scenario could create additional pressure on the European market and transport costs. Current estimates suggest that if the U.S. halts exports for several months, diesel prices in Europe could rise by 0.10-0.25 euros per liter. Chisăliță emphasizes that these are hypothetical scenarios and not official forecasts. The U.S. exports around 1.4-1.6 million barrels of diesel daily, accounting for about 5% of global demand.
