Drepturi mai mari pentru cetățenii UE de la 1 august
From July 31, 2024, EU member states must implement the 'right to repair' directive, mandating repairs for certain products even after warranty expiration. This aims to reduce waste and promote sustainable consumption. Consumers will receive standardized repair information, and an online platform will connect them with repair services. The directive also extends warranty periods when repairs are chosen. Specific product categories are covered, and costs will be borne by consumers, but they should remain reasonable. The rules prohibit contractual clauses that hinder repairs.
