Romania may recover part of the 770 million euros related to salary reform from the PNRR if the law is passed by the end of October and meets EU commitments. Minister Dragoș Pîslaru stated that while the exact amount recoverable is uncertain, political will is needed for the law's adoption. He emphasized that the law must fully comply with PNRR conditions, particularly regarding salary caps. Pîslaru noted that the delay in passing the law was politically motivated, not technical, and that there is a two-month window to resume discussions and make necessary adjustments. He aims to maximize the recovery of non-reimbursable funds for investment financing in Romania.
