The Romanian government has requested the European Commission to expedite the review of amendments to the ANI law to address potential issues before the PNRR milestone evaluation. Minister Dragoș Pîslaru explained that the justice component and financial evaluation of the PNRR are separate but interconnected processes. The request for clarifications originated from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Justice, and the evaluation of the PNRR reform will occur after its inclusion in Payment Request 6. Pîslaru noted that any findings regarding rule of law violations could negatively impact the PNRR assessment. He emphasized the urgency of addressing any treaty violations to ensure funding is secured.
