Dovada că oamenii încă evoluează. Descoperirea surprinzătoare din Himalaya
A study of 417 women in Nepal reveals ongoing human evolution through adaptations to high altitude living. Researchers found that successful reproduction is linked to optimal hemoglobin saturation rather than high levels. Women with intermediate hemoglobin levels and higher pulmonary blood flow had more children, indicating natural selection at work. Cultural factors also influenced reproductive success, but biological mechanisms were significant.
