Two kidney transplants were successfully performed at "Dr. C.I. Parhon" Hospital in Iași, involving a dedicated team of around 30 medical professionals. One recipient was a 52-year-old man from Botoșani with a rare kidney condition, while the other was a 43-year-old Moldovan man with polycystic kidney disease. The surgeries faced challenges due to the donor's hepatitis B status, requiring careful management of immunosuppression. The medical team, motivated by a desire to help rather than financial gain, has performed approximately 35 transplants this year, with costs ranging from €17,000 to €20,000 per procedure. The coordinator praised the donor's family for their decision during a difficult time.
