On October 6, two commercial ships were struck by drones in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone, resulting in one sinking and two fatalities. The incident marks the first reported drone attack on vessels in this area. The cargo ship ALFA WATAN sank after sustaining severe damage, while the ABLE caught fire, forcing its crew to abandon ship. A rescue operation was launched, with 11 survivors rescued and treated for injuries. Bulgarian authorities, including the Coast Guard, are investigating the attacks, which are believed to be coordinated. Prime Minister Rumen Radev has called a meeting with state representatives to address the situation.
