Starting September 28, Italy will implement a fuel price cap initiated by Eni and IP, affecting around 8,500 gas stations. Eni's cap sets gasoline at €1.99 per liter and diesel at €2.19, valid for 30 days with possible extensions. IP will gradually apply its cap without disclosing specific prices. This measure aims to alleviate high fuel costs for families and businesses amid rising prices. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised the decision, emphasizing government efforts to support citizens' purchasing power. The cap could lead to significant savings for consumers, especially in regions with higher prices. Smaller operators may struggle to compete with these price limits.
