Două cauze identificate pentru mirosul urât din Bucureşti, după 1.000 de sesizări
Recent complaints from Bucharest residents about a foul odor have been traced to the Glina wastewater treatment plant and the Vidra waste depot. The Environmental Guard received over a thousand reports in just two days, leading to fines totaling nearly one million lei and a criminal complaint. Local residents, particularly in Berceni, have long experienced this issue, often keeping windows closed due to the smell. The Environmental Guard found operational failures at Glina, prompting a proposal to suspend its operating license. However, the water operator, Apa Nova, disputes these findings and plans to contest the penalties. The Vidra waste depot is nearing capacity, necessitating the search for a new site for waste disposal.
