In the night of October 9-10, 2026, residents of northern Tulcea County received two RO-Alert messages due to detected aerial targets near the Romanian border. Two Spanish F-18 aircraft were deployed from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to monitor the situation. The first target was identified about 20 kilometers north of Periprava, prompting the first alert at 00:17, which ended at 00:40. A second target was detected near Chilia, leading to another alert at 02:18, concluding at 03:13. The Ministry of National Defense confirmed that Romanian airspace was not violated, as both targets remained within Ukrainian airspace.
