He expressed outrage over the handling of the case, including phone tapping and a home raid, which he deemed excessive for the nature of the accusations. Avrămescu also called for the resignation of DIICOT's leadership and questioned the integrity of the agency's operations. He alleged that the investigation was a smear campaign against him, initiated by individuals within the services close to the current political leadership.
