President Trump has approved the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, responsible for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that killed 13. The execution will be carried out by a U.S. Army firing squad, as recommended by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, was convicted in 2013 and is currently partially paralyzed from injuries sustained during the attack. This marks the first military execution in the U.S. since 1961.
