Two cousins tragically lost their lives after their moped was struck by a train in Harghita. Aged 16 and 17, they were not wearing protective gear, leading to a devastating impact. Surveillance footage captured their final moments. Investigators are looking into why they failed to notice the train, despite good visibility. The accident occurred around 5:30 PM at an unbarriered crossing, where they were hit by the Bucharest-Târgu Mureș train. Just minutes before, they were seen walking towards the tracks. The train driver reported the incident happened in an instant after they accelerated on the moped, and he tested negative for alcohol.
