Two medical professors from Constanța, accused of bribery, have been placed under house arrest by the Court of Appeal. The decision follows a DNA investigation that uncovered alleged corruption related to exam fraud at the Ovidius University. Prosecutors conducted multiple searches, revealing unaccounted sums of money. The professors are accused of accepting bribes from students to ensure their promotion in anatomy courses during the 2026 academic year. The amounts demanded from students ranged from 600 to 2,500 euros, with total illicit gains exceeding 37,100 euros.
