The Oradea City Hall is adjusting its budget due to two beavers threatening around 500 trees along the Crișul Repede River. A contract worth approximately 45,000 lei has been signed to install protective metal nets around the trees. This measure proved effective last year, saving 200 trees from damage. The beavers became problematic during the winter of 2024-2025, damaging numerous trees. Initially, relocation was considered, but protecting the trees was ultimately chosen as the solution.
