Two men were caught illegally cutting down 20 fir trees in Bucegi Natural Park, claiming they needed them for a wedding. They were apprehended by mountain gendarmes while loading the trees into their car. The suspects, aged 27 and 57, used a hand saw to cut the trees, which is feasible due to the softwood of fir. They stated that the trees were intended to bring prosperity to the wedding, as per Romanian traditions.
