Doi arheologi amatori au descoperit 141 de monede romane de aur și o comoară ascunsă. Valoarea tezaurului estimată la 308.000 de euro

Near Holzthum, Luxembourg, archaeologists discovered Roman foundations and a treasure of 141 gold coins valued over €308,000. The coins date from the 4th to 5th centuries and were buried for unknown reasons. The discovery, announced by Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture, is significant for Roman history studies. The coins, known as 'solidi', were minted under nine emperors and include rare pieces from Nicomedia. The excavation faced challenges due to WWII remnants. Researchers speculate the treasure was buried around 395 AD, but the exact circumstances remain unclear. Some coins may not be authentic, prompting further investigation.
