During a raid at Călin Georgescu's home, DIICOT prosecutors discovered a fake document claiming he was a senator in Malta. Maltese officials confirmed the document's falsity. Although it wasn't used in the financial scheme he is being investigated for, prosecutors are examining its potential use for credibility. Additionally, a diplomatic passport allegedly issued by the Knights of Malta was found. The Maltese ambassador in Romania stated that the documents are counterfeit. Reports indicate that Georgescu possessed multiple such credentials at his residence.
