Dobânda de politică monetară a BNR rămâne neschimbată, dar prețurile ar putea crește din nou până la finalul anului
The National Bank of Romania decided to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at 6.50% amid declining inflation. Despite a drop in inflation from 10.42% in June to 6.17% in August, the central bank warns of potential increases due to rising energy and commodity prices. Economic stagnation was noted in the second quarter, with a continued decrease in consumer spending. The bank also kept the borrowing rate for banks at 7.50% and the deposit rate at 5.50%. Future inflation pressures may arise from fuel costs and severe drought effects. The next monetary policy meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2026.
