While some continue to travel, a significant portion is cutting back on vacation duration and costs. Eurostat data indicates that 61.4% of Romanians cannot afford a week of vacation annually. ANAT emphasizes the need for measures to support purchasing power and access to vacations, as a healthy tourism industry contributes to a more productive economy. The organization also highlights the impact of rising operational costs and external competition from countries like Bulgaria and Greece. ANAT calls for reduced VAT for the tourism sector and investments in infrastructure to enhance tourism accessibility.
