Doar 40% dintre centrele medicale din lume sunt echipate cu instalaţii sanitare, potrivit ONU
A recent UN report reveals that only 40% of healthcare facilities worldwide meet basic sanitation standards, with 11% lacking any sanitation facilities. Despite improvements over the past decade, significant gaps remain, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, where only 23% of facilities have basic amenities. The report highlights the need for functional toilets, clean water access, and proper hygiene management to prevent infections. In the poorest countries, only 24% of facilities meet cleanliness standards, affecting 1.5 billion people. The findings emphasize the urgent need for investment in healthcare sanitation.
